about

We visited Amsterdam for a long weekend about seven years ago and the hotel we stayed in was literally next door to the world-famous Bimhuis jazz club. As luck would have it, legendary bassist Christian McBride was appearing there on our first night, so we snapped up two of the few remaining tickets.

Great gig in a fabulous venue – the back of the stage is all glass, so the city serves as a backdrop to the performers. A night burned into our memories.

Although the track is named after the club and inspired by its long, long history of hosting the giants of jazz, the track is really a love-letter to the club and to the city of Amsterdam. I adore the place and would happily live there.
